What is Lawn Bowls:

  • A precision sport played on a flat, grassed area called a green, where players roll a biased bowl from a mat towards a small white target ball, the "jack," with the objective of getting their bowls closest to it.

How do I start:

  • Come along to one of our open days at the start of the season, or join us any Tuesday or Saturday 2pm for a taster.

What do I need:

  • To start lawn bowls, you need flat-soled shoes, comfortable clothing, and the essential equipment: a set bias bowls, our club can offer bowls to borrow, so you can try the sport before buying your own set, allowing you to find the right size and weight for you. 

When can I play:

  • As a member you can play any day after 10.30am providing there are no matches scheduled and weather permitting 

Can I just play socially:

  • Yes members only play in league matches if they want to, it’s fine if you only wish to play in roll ups or with friends who are members
